After much hair-pulling and lip-chewing on my part, the LR Web Site and Blog went live this morning!

(Click on the banner to go to the new site)
An exciting endeavor for all involved, but especially for me, because I can breathe a little easier (at least for a little while) now that I don’t have the prospect of walls of CSS code staring me down. Can maybe sleep more, too (was up till 7 am working on Saturday night/Sunday morning and ended up skipping church).
I was all anticipation this morning, like a kid at Christmas, sitting there waiting for the clock to tick down to 10:30 so that I could hit “OK” and transfer the new index file to the site root. My celebratory breakfast was pretty standard, but comforting: Heart to Heart cereal with frozen raspberries, Rickshaw brand tea with lemon and sugar.
And it’s not over yet, kids. Our staff reviewer’s post on THE HEART’S TRAFFIC goes up on the blog in less than half an hour is now up on the blog. And there’s more coming later this week. An interview I did with Luisa Igloria, our first weekly prompt (by associate editor M). I am SO excited. Can’t wait!

On an unrelated note, I made this ribbon rose a few days ago, from one of the ribbons that were on the books Oprah gave out at my Stanford ‘08 graduation. Not sure what I should do with it: hairclip? brooch? headband? Ideas welcome.
Congratulations on the launch!!
Ribbon rose looks vintage! Btw – how is Heart to Heart cereal?
thank you! i have been really into the vintage/romantic/feminine kind of look recently (strange for me, as up until this past summer i was totally a t-shirt and jeans kinda girl). i love heart to heart. it’s like cheerios, but a bit less oat-y tasting, and vaguely sweet (but not cloying like honey-nut cheerios). plus, i think some versions have green and/or white tea in them. yay antioxidants.
i have to try it next time! i love the way vintage looks, but hardly have anything that resembles it in my wardrobe
congrats on completing the site!
hrm…make it into a long-stemmed rose?
thank you!
i think i actually want to wear it, so i’ve made it into a hair clip (am going to post a photo in a bit).
YAY! It’s up!
All the best to you guys in this new venture. I hope the LR finds lots of like-minded writers out there on the internet!

Thank you for your well-wishes! We are very very excited to have finished phase I of the setup process, so to speak, and can’t wait until our submissions database gets set up and we are able to start reading manuscripts!
I tried the cereal today! It’s yummy although bears some resemblance to hamster food! ha
Hamster food?! Oh no! I will totally be thinking about that and giggling next time I am eating it. LOL
