Yes, that’s what I’ve been calling it. Since it’s made with the ribbon from the books Oprah distributed at my graduation. Cheesy, I know. But kind of fun to say. I ended up making it into a sort of hybrid hairpiece, which is essentially a hairclip, but can be worn with a headband, as well.
I sewed a ribbon loop on the back into which I can slip one of my lovely new no-slip/no-damage alligator clips. I really like the color of the ribbon, and how it can brighten a dark colored outfit. I do think, though, that in the future if I attempt this craft again I will try to make the rose a little flatter, with wider petals at the base. If you look at it from the wrong angle, the flower is “tall” enough that it looks kind of like a funny zigzaggy alien bob on the side of one’s head.
Now, off to do laundry (I have no clean socks left! Yikes!)
