DHB #10 (Bento 13)

This is only partly a dining hall bento (the beautiful purple taro pastry comes from the Chinese Bakery and the cute soy milk box drink is from 99 Ranch). I was going to make it for yesterday’s lunch, but we had a special speaker so they were serving pizza and I decided to wait on it. Besides, today I have legitimate need for a packed lunch, since I’m playing in a recital that goes through the lunch hour and have class immediately afterwards.

Here’s a styled shot:
Bento 13 - 1

Contents: 6 mini pinwheel sandwiches (they look like 3 b/c they’re double-stacked; ingredients: buttermilk bread, cream cheese, salami and spinach); tangerine, taro-filled pastry, olives and cucumber slices for gap fillers. Mini soy box drink (I seriously only bought it b/c I loved the penguin so much) and extra cuke slices in the lid.

More views…

This view shows the interior a little better (I know it looks like there’s a gap between the cuke slices and the rightmost sandwich, but I swear there isn’t one – it just looks like a hole b/c the cucumber skin there is dark and turned in…):

Bento 13 - 2

And this one shows it packed up, with extra cucumber slices in the lid:

Bento 13 - 3

Somehow in the course of the last two weeks and the last washing I gave my beloved happy balloon bento, the lid to the bottom tier went missing. So I’m stuck with just one tier for now, which makes me sad. Hopefully I’ll find it (if not, I’ll make do…I’m going to need someone to hold me to this; I’ve had my eye on a blue Mellow set for a while and now I’m really tempted to buy it even though I don’t need it…)
